We all know Napa has incredible wine and delicious restaurants but did you know Napa also has a fantastic music festival? Bottlerock music fest happens in late May and they release the lineup in Jan or early February. Ticket presales start mid Dec. Prices are about $140 for single day general admission and about twice that for VIP single day. They also have 3 day passes but those sell out fast.
It’s the cleanest and most well organized music festival I have ever attended. They have tents with wines and incredible food to indulge your every desire. They get incredible bands and it ends by 10pm due to city rules. Gates open at 11:30am.
As you might imagine, parking is at a premium and runs up to $50 in some lots so taking an Uber or shuttle, that some hotels and wineries provide, is highly encouraged. I also suggest investigating Airbnb’s to stay. I found a wonderful one in St Helena for a fraction of the cost of a hotel and what a perfect little town to explore when you aren’t at the festival.
If you are not attending the music fest every day, and are sick of wine (I know, how can that be), I suggest driving to Muir Woods to admire the majestic redwoods that area is known for. It is well worth the trip and you are then close to a couple perfect spots to eat lunch, namely Sausalito or Tiburon.
I am partial to Tiburon and a casual spot, with a spectacular view of San Francisco Bay, called Sams Anchor Cafe. Sams has a deck with outdoor tables & red and white checkered table cloths. It’s a super casual spot to get lunch and a cocktail:) A hidden gem!
